Services held in Morton for sister of Hattiesburg woman

MORTON -- Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Morton Church of God for Mrs. Ary Lois Arender, 54, of Morton, who died Tuesday at University Hospital in Jackson following a lengthy illness.

The Rev. I.E. Windham officiated. Interment was in the Ueltchey [sic Ueltschey] Cemetery in Scott County with Ott and Lee Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Arender was a native of Smith County but had lived most of her life in Scott County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Morton Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, John Arender of Morton, two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Evans and Mrs. Wanda Jackson, both of Morton, two sons, Lester and Johnny Mack Arender, both of Morton, two grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Daniel and Mrs. Ruby Russum, both of Jackson, Mrs. Clennie Robbins of Hattiesburg and Mrs. Rosie Eloph of Ft. Wayne, ind., two brothers, Jeffie Smith of Mt. Olive, and Monroe Smith of McMinville, Tenn. and several nieces and nephews.
