Asa B. (Ike) Dunahoe

SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Asa B. (Ike) Dunahoe, 78, will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 9, 1997 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Nathan Hurst, pastor of Landmark Pentecostal Church. Burial will be in Forest Park West with military rites to be conducted by the 12th District, Department of LA, Veterans of Foreign Wars - Honor Guard.

Funeral home visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 1997.

Mr. Dunahoe died Tuesday, May 6, 1997 in Shreveport, La. He was born in Deadwood, TX and had resided in Shreveport since he was a child. Mr. Dunahoe was a retired plumber and the former owner of Day and Night Plumbing Company. He was a member of Light House Pentecostal Church, American Legion Post #14, Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #141, and the YMCA. He was a heavily decorate P.O.W. veteran of World War II, with many medals including the Purple Heart, Air Medal, and Prisoner of War Medal. As a Master Sergeant, he flew well over 40 missions and suffered dearly as a P.O.W.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Johnson Dunahoe.

Survivors include two sons, Acey B. Dunahoe and wife, Gwen all of Shreveport, LA; one daughter, Gail Arnette Paxton and husband, Kenneth of Bartlett, TN; two sisters, Polly Lunebring, Mary Helen Young; and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jo Jo Garza, Arthur Garza, Gregory Garza, Doug Johnson, Kenneth Procell and Bobby Sasser.

The family suggests memorials may be made to Willis-Knighton Hospice.
