Asa T. Norwood

Funeral services for Asa T. Norwood, 79, of Winnsboro were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 19, in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Interment was in Providence Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Brown and the Rev. Jessie Sutton officiating.

A native of Franklin Parish, he was born January 23, 1902. He was a retired dairy farmer and a member of Lone Cedar Baptist Church. He died December 18, at his residence, after a long illness.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Elsie Norwood, Lone Cedar Community; one daughter, Mrs. Lillie Yates, Delhi; one son, Asa Lee Norwood, Port Orchard, Wash.; one brother, Lee Norwood of Gilbert; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jules Tyler, Jim Hughes, Charlie Gwin, Mac Phillips, Elza Cummings and John Saloway.
