Mrs. Hooper Rites Held On Wednesday

Funeral services for Mrs. Asha Marie Franklin Hooper, 71, of New Orleans and formerly of the Mayton Community near Puckett, were held on Wednesday morning, April 21, at 10:30 in the Morton Ott & Lee Chapel with Rev. W. H. Wilkinson officiating. Interment followed in the Gum Springs Cemetery in Simpson County with Ott & Lee Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Hooper passed away in the Medic Center in Newton on Monday following a short illness. She had been a resident of New Orleans for the past thirty years. She was a member of the Union Baptist Church.

The survivors are her husband, E. G. Hooper; three sisters, Mrs. Mamie Gray of Pelahatchie, Mrs. Minnie Morris of Jackson, and Mrs. I. W. [sic T. W.] Walker of Braxton; and one brother, Hardy Franklin of Morton.

The pallbearers were the nephews.
