Athel Williams

Services were held at the Church of Christ, Tuttle, Friday for Athel Williams, 70, Oklahoma City, a former Tuttle resident, who died Wednesday, Nov 19, at his home. Paul Magee & K.C. Moser officiated at the service. A duo sang, “Beyond The Sunset”, “Abide With Me”, “The Lords Prayer”, & “In The Land of Fadeless Day”.

Mr Williams was born in Boskey [sic Bosque] county, TX, 7/4/1888. At the age of 2, he moved to Indian Territory, where Tuttle is now located. He married Ethel Brandon, 2/28/1915 and they became Christians early in their married life. He moved to Oklahoma City in 1945, where he resided until his death. His life was spent as a farmer.

Survivors are his wife, Ethel, of the home, 1 son, W.F. of Oklahoma City, 2 sister[s], Mrs Lester Pierson of Oklahoma City, & Mrs Lottie Ray of Los Angeles, Calif, 2 grandsons, Stephen Lee & Jeff Brandon.

Pallbearers were Stevie Chenoweth, B.C. Hoover, W.B. Sowers, J.A. Hartin, P.R. Hambleton, & W.A. Vantament.

Burial was in the Fairlawn cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of the Guardian funeral home.
