Aubrey Hood

SANTA FE -- Aubrey Hood, 78, of Santa Fe died Friday at Mainland Center Hospital.

Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Hayes Funeral Home, with the Rev. John C. DeForke officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Born June 4, 1912 in Saline, La., Mr. Hood was a retired heavy equipment operator with the city of Galveston. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a resident of Santa Fe since 1973. He was formerly of Galveston.

Survivors include his wife, Louise L. Hood of Santa Fe; stepchildren, Lawrence Hubbell of Santa Fe and Gene Hubbell and Don Hubbell of Galveston; sister, Hazel Sutton of Rustin [sic Ruston], La.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Robert Tibbett, Larry Hubbell, Bobby Hubbell, Mike Hubbell, Tommy Benzaia and Bobby Lentz.
