Archer, Audrey

Audrey Archer died at 2 a.m. Feb. 16, 2008, at Alta Bates Hospital in Oakland of lung cancer. She was in the arms of her husband, Tom, when she passed away. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, on Jan. 20, 1938, and had been a resident of Fairfield since 1960 when she and Tom were married.

She is survived by her mother, Louise Ferris of Poth, Texas; sister, Diane of Houston, Texas; three children, LuAnne DeLuna of Suisun City, Valeri Bosson of Suisun City and Dale Grisham of Sacramento; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; dearest friends, Libby Johnson and Barbara Norris, both of Fairfield; and her loving husband, Tom.

She worked for civil service and Travis Air Force Base for 35 years and received many commendations. She loved scrap booking for herself and others. She made approximately 500 Afghans and gave almost all of them to her friends. She was a member of Fairfield Christian Reformed Church and taught Sunday school for at least 20 years.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22 at Fairfield Christian Reformed Church, 300 Marigold Drive. Instead of flowers, please hug your loved ones and tell them how dear they are to you.
