AUDREY JONES SASSER
Audrey Jones Sasser died on Friday, May 4, 2007. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Alexander Ford Sasser and by her son, A. Ford
Sasser, Jr.
She was born August 11, 1898 in Winn Parish, Louisiana
to Charles Lucious and Leona Nash Jones. As an amateur painter,
an avid gardener and bridge player, she maintained an interest in life
until her death. She was an active member of the Alamo Heights
Methodist Church, the Sunday School and the Senior Citizens group.
She is survived by her daughter, Maurine and son-in-law, Robert Hausser;
daughter-in-law, Augusta Sasser Matthews; six grandsons and their wives,
Robert and Christine Hausser; Albert Ford and Meta Hausser,
Will and Susan Hausser, Alexander Ford and Abbie Sasser,
Trebes and Laura Sasser, Stuart and
Keleigh Sasser and thirteen great-grandchildren; seven nephews and
their families.
The family will always be grateful for the loving care
and concern given to our mother by Melba Martinez, Lucy Moreno, Teresa
Stack and Vicky Augallo. The Stafford Community of Incarnate Word
Retirement Community fulfilled and enriched her life for seventeen years.
Private services were held at Sunset Memorial Park with the Rev. Donna
Strieb from Alamo Heights United Methodist Church officiating.
