A.J. Allen

HENDERSON -- Services for Austin J. Allen, 73, of Rt. 2 Henderson, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Bryan Funeral Home with the Revs. Bill Hitt and Jim Adams officiating.

Burial will be at Laneville Cemetery.

Allen, a retired carpenter, died Saturday at a Henderson hospital after a brief illness.

He was a member of the Baptist church and a lifetime resident of Rusk County.

He is survived by his wife, Daisy; two daughters, Mrs. Katherine Penney, Jasper, and Mrs. Jessie Mae Bennett, Henderson; a son, James Ray of Clute; four sisters, Mrs. Joy Wood, Laneville, Mrs. Bill Ivg [sic Ivy], Fort Worth, Mrs. Ivy White[head], Rusk, and Mrs. O.L. King, Freeport; three brothers, Charles of Henderson, Rade of Fort Worth and Billy; and eight grandchildren.
