Ava Gray McCarty

Services for Mrs. Ava Gray McCarty, 86, of Monroe, were Aug.26, in Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with The Reverend Canon Gregg L. Riley officiating. Burial was held in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. McCarty, a registered nurse, died Friday, Aug. 22, at Cornerstone Hospital.

She was a member of Grace and St. Alban's Episcopal Churches, and Porcelain Art Guild. She was a former member of Ouachita Parish Medical Society Auxilary, French Club, Monroe Garden Club, and African Violet Club where she was past president,. She was a graduate of Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans.

Her husband, Dr. F.E. McCarty preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Denver and Judy McCarty of Corinth, TX, George and Vicky McCarty of Monroe, and Mary Sue McCarty of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Ashley McCarty of Corinth, TX, Denver G. McCarty, Jr. and wife Kelly of Lewisville, TX, Craig McCarty and wife Regina of Monroe, and Jackie McCarty of Houston, TX; and great-granddaughters, Savannah McCarty and Ava Marie McCarty.

Pallbearers were Denver G. McCarty, Jr., Craig McCarty, Mike Savage, Bud Crow and Dr. Ralph King.
