B. P. JONES' DEATH SHOCK TO TAYLOR COUNTY FRIENDS

FUNERAL SERVICES TODAY FOR HIGHLY ESTEEMED REYNOLDS CITIZEN, RURAL MAIL CARRIER, FARMER AND WELL KNOWN CHURCHMAN.

Following an illness of only one week Mr. Bailey Pope Jones died at his home at Reynolds yesterday afternoon about three o'clock. No man in the community was held in greater esteem than was Mr. Jones and announcement of whose death has cast a gloom over the county.

Mr. Jones was born in Taylor county Dec. 21, 1883, the son of the late Mr. Samuel P. and Mrs. Georgia Amerson Jones. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Myrtle Rhodes, of Butler; three children, Roy, Edwin and Virginia Jones; one brother, Mr. R. A. Jones, of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Roberson, also of Jacksonville; and a large number of other near relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Jones residence in Reynoldsat 3 o'clock this afternoon with interment at Hill Crest Cemetery. Rites will be conducted by prominent reader of the Christian Science Church, of Macon, of which Mr. Jones was a devout member.

As citizen, farmer, churchman and rural letter carrier connected with the Reynolds postoffice Mr. Jones was one of the most outstanding residents of the county. He was a man well informed on national and state issues though seemingly taking very little interest in matters politically. As a student of the Bible he had but few equals and was very conversant on religious subjects.

The Herald joins hosts of other friends in extending sincere sympathy to the loved ones of this truly good man in this their saddest hour in his untimely passing.
