Barbara Girlinghouse
Barbara Charleville Girlinghouse, 64, a resident of Boling, Texas, and a former resident of Denham Springs, went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 7, 2006. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who courageously fought colon cancer. She passed quietly with her husband and sister in-law, Kattye Keller, by her side.
Barbara was born March 16, 1942, in Houston and was raised in Grosse Tete, where she met her husband. She was the loyal and loving wife to Glen ``Roger'' Girlinghouse for 43 years. Her hobbies were sewing, quilting and crossword puzzles. She leaves behind the legacy of her gift in numerous quilts that were given to many family and friends. She was a very caring and helpful friend to all she knew. She will be missed dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hollis and Helen Charleville; brother, Hollis ``Butch'' Charleville; sisters, Nancy Charleville and Judy Moran; and son, Allen Wayne Girlinghouse.
She is survived by her husband, Glen ``Roger'' Girlinghouse of Boling; sister, Myra Evans and husband Gerald of Smyrna, Tenn.; sons, Hollis Girlinghouse and wife Shirley of Port Allen, Roy Girlinghouse and wife Deborah of Boling; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, an aunt and cousins in Houston.
The family would like to thank all who helped during this most difficult time including numerous friends, neighbors, organizations and companies that were of great help. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the care given by the El Campo Hospice in Texas and their wonderful and caring staff of employees and volunteers. We thank you very much.
