Barbara Crum Fortinberry
“Absent from the body, and present with the Lord” Beloved wife, mother, sister and friend Barbara Jean Crum Fortinberry, passed from death to life on July 23, 2012.
She was born in Gloster, Mississippi on August 24, 1937, preceded in death by parents Edna Mae Crum and Troy Percy Crum and sister, Myra JoAnn Crum.
Survived by the love of her life, W.C. Fortinberry, husband for 58 years, daughters, Debbie and Donna and son Richard Fortinberr and many aunts and uncles.
Barbara graduated from Istrouma High School in 1955. She was a member of the marching band where she met her husband, “Dub”. She was an active member of Istrouma Baptist Church. Barbara loved serving the Lord and His church all they days of her life. She was an avid LSU fan and loved rooting for the Tigers. Her hobbies were taking care of her flowers, camping and playing dominos with her friends. All who knew her loved her and her sweet presence will be surely missed.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Tawanda McClendon for her loving care of our wife and mother. You touched our hearts and we love you dearly. Visitation at Istrouma Baptist Church on Thursday, July 26 at 9 to 12 until Memorial Service at 12:00 and Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. The services will be led by Pasters Jeff Ginn and Ron Lambe.
Pallbearers are, David Arnold, Brad Arnold, Frank Clark, Ned Keith, Gary Bateman and Paul Bateman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Istrouma Baptist Church.
