Services for Barbara Jean Peters Boatright, 71, of Ruston, LA will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA with Rev. Wayne Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Quitman, LA.
Mrs. Boatright died Sunday, October 17, 2004 at Lincoln General Hospital following a brief illness.
Mrs. Boatright, a retired teacher, was a native of Quitman and was a graduate of Quitman High School and Northeast State College, now called the University of Louisiana-Monroe. She and her husband spent 34 years in New Orleans before returning to North Louisiana after her husband's retirement in 1991.
Preceeding Mrs. Boatright in death were her husband, Thomas Wayne Boatright of Ruston, LA; her parents, Orren Marshall Peters and Ollie Bond Peters of Quitman, LA; and sisters Lorleis Bates of West Monroe, LA, Lorraine Shows of Monroe, LA and Elaine Peters of Houston, Texas.
Survivors are her son: Thomas Scott Boatright of Ruston, daughter and son-in-law: Wendy B. and Kurtis Johnston of Dubach, LA; brother-in-law Grady Bates of West Monroe, LA; sister-in-laws Hazel Parks of Ruston and Rebecca Parker of Natchitoches, La.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bill Bates, John Dooley, Jim Jenkins, Ken Parks, Mark Shively and Matt Shively.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Kilpatrick's in Ruston, LA.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Antioch Cemetery, 518 North Antioch Rd., Quitman, LA 71268.
