BARNEY EUGENE NEWCOMB
Funeral services for Barney Eugene Newcomb, 69, of Route Four, Laurel, were held Monday, 3 p.m., from the Antioch Baptist Church, Jasper County, with burial in the Antioch Cemetery. The Revs. Sim Morris and Tommy Fant officiated.
Newcomb, a retired employee of Masonite Corporation, died Sunday in a local hospital. He was the son of the late George Franklin and Fannie Warren Newcomb, and a member of the Land Mark Baptist Church.
He is survived by five sons, Elijah Newcomb, Route Three, Laurel; Bobby Newcomb, Route Five, Laurel; Billy Newcomb and Nevells Newcomb both of Route Four, Laurel, and B. G. Newcomb, Laurel; three daughters, Mrs. E. Allgood, Route One, Ellisville; Mrs. James Westbrook, Route One, Hazelhurst [sic Hazlehurst]; and Mrs. Hilman Evans, Laurel; one brother, G. F. Newcomb and one sister, Mrs. Mittie Ball, both of Louin, and 14 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Charles Newcomb, Charles Dickerson, Paul Dickerson, Billy John Dickerson, Bobby Ned Dickerson, and David Ball.
Memory Chapel was in charge.
