Barney McCollum Wilson
Services for Barney McCollum Wilson will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria, with the Rev. Timothy Everitt officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Wilson, 74, of Alexandria died Friday, July 21, 2000, in Rapides Regional Medical Center.
She was a 1960 graduate of Louisiana College, Pineville. She was a retired schoolteacher having taught 31 years at North Bayou Rapides Elementary School. She was owner and operator of Barney Wilson, Inc., a local homebuilder, for 39 years. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Robert L. “Red” Wilson of Alexandria; one daughter, Linda Crump of Hallsville, Texas; one son, Rick Wilson of Maryville, Tenn.; one sister, Willie M. Smith of Pineville; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Flint Crump, Brent Crump, Rob Wilson, Benton Lee Wilson, Bobby McNeese, Mark Smith, Bob Gutweiler and Glenn Beard.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until time of services Sunday in the funeral home.
