Basham Morris Crain
SHREVEPORT, LA -- Morris Crain went to his Heavenly home on Friday, October 12, 2001 after a long illness. Memorial services will be conducted at the Broadmoor Baptist Church Chapel on Sunday, October 14, 2001 at 2:30 p.m. Officiating will be Dr. Tom Harrison. Visitation will be at Centuries Funeral Home on Saturday, October 13, 2001 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The interment will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2001 at the Brooks Memorial Garden in Brooks, GA.
Mr. Crain was an active member of Broadmoor Baptist Church until his illness. He served as educational director of Highland Baptist Church before leaving Shreveport in 1946 to become business manager at the Southern Baptist Home Mission Board in Atlanta, GA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron L. Crain and Amelia Emmons Crain; his daughter, Patricia Ann Crain; twelve brothers and sisters and his frist [sic first] wife, Alva Melton Crain.
He is survived by his wife, Susie C. Crain of Shreveport, LA; one son, John M. Crain and wife, Diana; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren all living in the Atlanta, GA area.
The family would like to thank Dr. Wayne Barksdale and the Shreveport-Bossier Hospice. A special thanks to Margaret, Carolyn and Suzanne for their loving care during Mr. Crain's illness.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Broadmoor Baptist Church Faith Ever Growing Campaign or charity of choice.

Morris Crain went to his heavenly home on Friday, October 12, 2001 after a long illness. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 16, 2001, at the Brooks Memorial Gardens in Brooks, Ga. Officiating will be Rev. Roger A. Sizemore. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 9:00-10:30 A.M. at the funeral home.
Mr. Crain was an active member of Broadmoor Baptist Church, Shreveport, LA. until his illness. He served as Educational Director of Highland Baptist Church before leaving Shreveport in 1946 to become Business Manager at the Southern Baptist Home Mission Board in Atlanta, GA. He was a resident of Atlanta for 48 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron L. Crain and Amelia Emmons Crain, his daughter, Patricia Ann Crain, twelve brothers and sisters and his first wife, Alva Melton Crain.
He is survived by his wife, Susie C. Crain of Shreveport, LA., one son, John M. Crain and wife Diana, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all living in the Atlanta, GA. area.
