Beatrice ‘B.B.’ Emmons

WINONA -- Services for Beatrice “B.B.” Emmons, 93, of Winona, who died of a stroke Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lee Funeral Home.

Mrs. Emmons was a homemaker. She was a member of Old Union Church of Christ and was an avid gardener.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Uriah Ray Emmons; and two sons, Thomas Ray “Bubba” Emmons and Billy Frank “Toot” Emmons.

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Sue Wurthman of Bartlett, Tenn.; a son, Larry Lane Emmons of Winona; three sisters, Ruby Walters of Grenada and Eldora DeFillapo and Edith Bhaush, both of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Boyd Avant of Carrollton; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Johnny Walker and the Rev. Joseph Sansing will officiate at the services.

Burial will be in the Emmons Family Cemetery in Carroll County.

Pallbearers will be Wallace Avant, Roy Avant, Jimmy Avant, Terry Malone, Ronnie Hartness and Marion Bishop.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 this evening at the funeral home.
