BENJAMIN F. PHILLIPS

Benjamin Franklin Phillips, 78, retired farmer of 817 Beacon Street, Laurel, died Wednesday in a local hospital following a long illness.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 2:30 p.m. from Antioch Baptist Church with the Revs. Michael Dunaway and Joe Johnson officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery, Jasper County.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Vennie Rayner Phillips, Laurel; one son, Lloyd Phillips, Laurel; 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Geneva Gregory, Pascagoula and five brothers, Lee Phillips, Arnold Phillips, Doc Phillips, Artis Phillips, all of Bay Springs and Joe Phillips of Louin.

Pallbearers will be Frazier Phillips, Paul Phillips, Franklin Bell, Edgar Walley and Franklin Phillips.
