BENJAMIN RAY DENHAM
Benjamin Ray Denham, 28, resident of Carterville, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Sanatorium, Miss., following a lengthy illness. The body will remain at the home of his brother, D. D. Denham, Harvey, until time for services.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Church of God, Highway 49 South, with Rev. A. J. Phillips, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Green's Creek cemetery.
Military rites will be conducted at the graveside by Lacey Kelly post of the V.F.W., of which he was a member. Active pallbearers will be members of the post.
A veteran of World War II, Mr. Denham enlisted Jan. 15, 1943, and was discharged Jan. 4, 1946, after serving with the 1308 Engineers battalion in both the European and Pacific theaters.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mabel Walters Denham; one son, Richard Denham; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Denham, Carterville; three brothers, L. L. and J. P. [sic J. T.] of Carterville and D. D. of Harvey; and one sister, Mrs. T. R. Williams of Petal.
