SHREVEPORT, LA -- Services will be conducted at Centuries Funeral Home Chapel for Bennie H. Sanders, age 63, of Shreveport, LA on Monday, July 21, 2003 at 10 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Marty Wright, pastor of Pinecroft Baptist Church. Interment with Military Honors to follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mr. Sanders entered into rest on Saturday, July 19, 2003 at Willis-Knighton Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was born in Sikes, LA and lived in Shreveport since 1997. He was a long distance truck driver retiring in 2002. He served his country as a member of the U.S.A.F. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion Post #6.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chris (C.J.) and Nancy V. McCarty Sanders; one brother, Travis Sanders; and a stepson, Kevin Hickenbotam.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary L. Sanders; his stepchildren, Dee Ray Rogers, Missy Solice and Tamrha Woodley and husband Mike; step-grandchildren, Ashley and Haley Woodley, Alyssa and Destiney Rogers, and Bryce and Lance Foley; two daughters, Vicki Scroggs and Denita McCart and husband Rudy and their children, Daniel, Joshua and Justin; four sons, Anthony (Tony), Keith, Byron, and Jeffrey Sanders. Also survived by one brother, Ricky Sanders as well as numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Louis A. Dale, Tommy Weeks, Tommy Willis, Mike Woodley, Scott Crenshaw and Glen Smotherman.
