B. J. Arnold

B.J. Arnold, 72, of Roxie, died April 23, 2010, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation begins at 2 p.m. today at Bunkley Baptist Church. Services are 11 a.m. Monday a the church, with burial in the church cemetery. Franklin Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Mr. Arnold was born July 23, 1937, in Franklin County, son of Earnest and Pernie Freeman Arnold.

He was a retired oilfield gauger. He was a member of Bunkley Baptist Church. He served in the National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edith Nell Arnold; five brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Vernon Arnold of Roxie, and Randy and Tammy Arnold of Bude; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Ann and Glen Hodges of Kentwood, La., and Debra and John Thomas of Meadville; two brothers, Rodney and Roger Arnold; one sister, Pauline Thornton; six grandsons, Ronnie Thomas, Jason Arnold, Jessie Arnold, Andy Shelley, Benjamin Arnold and Tootie Arnold; four granddaughters, Melissa Arnold, Julie Causey, Sara Arnold and Crystal Hodges; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Benjamin Arnold, Jason Arnold, Jessie Arnold, Andy Shelley, Tootie Arnold and Julie Causey.

Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Priest, Brad Griffin and Jimmy Wallace.
