Bernell Parker

Bernell Parker passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the age of 72 in Alexandria. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, the 14th of January 2013 in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches with the Reverend Timothy White to serve as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Bolton Cemetery near Gorum. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Sunday evening from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Crow Parker and his parents Cecil Raymond Parker and Margaret “Maggie” Kerry Parker.

He was blessed with a big family who loved him and always looked up to him. He loved the woods where he grew up hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. He is survived by 7 sisters, Lillie Vee Coutee, Clara & her late husband, George Myers, Glenda & her husband, Jesse Stiefel, Bonnie Champion, Ann & her husband, Billy Spillman, Diane Parker, Dimple & her husband, Joe Clevinger; 2 brothers, George & his wife, Sharon & Cecil & his wife, Charlene; as well as many wonderful cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by 4 daughters; Shawn Parker, Rebecca Hagenbeek, her husband Willy, Mary Anne Simonelli Hall, her husband, Rick, & Kate Simonelli Porter& her husband, Mark; 1 son, David Simonelli. He had 10 wonderful grandchildren; Justin, David, Parker, Cody, Samantha, Thomas, Jessica, Jason, Simon and John. He had one great granddaughter, Gabriella.

Pallbearers will be John Coutee, Tony Coutee, Kenny Coutee, J.C. Coutee, Ronald Coutee, Derrick Coutee, Cecil Parker, III. The family requests that memorials be made to American Heart Association.
