BERNELL WARREN

Funeral services for Bernell Warren, 52, 1524 West Seventh Street, Laurel were held Monday, 3 p.m., from West Laurel Baptist Church. Burial was in the Oak Hill section of Hickory Grove Cemetery.

The Revs. J. D. Benson, Cliff Padgett and Richard Gordon officiated.

Warren was a life long resident of Laurel and bookkeeper for Hooks Dry Cleaners. He was also a deacon in West Laurel Baptist Church, having served as music director for the church for a number of years.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Kate C. Warren, Laurel; one daughter, Miss Martha Jan Warren, Laurel; three grandchildren; William Wayne Valentine, Miss Kathryn Ann Valentine and Thomas Allen Valentine, all of Laurel; mother, Mrs. Alson Warren, Laurel and one sister, Mrs. Benton Matthews, Laurel, Route 7.

Serving as active pallbearers were Reulon Headrick, Jack Headrick, J. R. Upton, Kenneth Beard, R. A. Irby Jr., and Victor Jones. Honorary pallbearers were Deacons of West Laurel Baptist Church and A. B. Headrick, Superintendent of Adult No. 3 Department.

Thompson Funeral Home was in charge.
