Bert A. Heaston

Bert A. Heaston, 80, Excelsior Springs, Missouri, passed away October 16, 2010.

Bert was born December 5, 1929 in Gallatin, MO to Carl and Helen (Stephens) Heaston. He retired from General Motors after 54.1 years, where he worked as high loader Operator. He was a member of the UAW Local #41. Bert was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed the outdoors by sitting on his deck and would help others, not expecting anything in return. He was a spiritual man, honest and dedicated. Bert loved to cat fish and travel on family vacations. He liked cigarette lighters and coins. He idolized his daughter and granddaughter.

Bert was preceded in death by sisters, Patricia Myers and Kay Pitte and brothers, Jack Heaston, Doug Heaston and Winfred “Punkin” Heaston and by five infant siblings.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Heaston; daughter, Brenda Brasher; and granddaughter, Kierra Sullivan, all of Excelsior Springs, MO; brothers, Billie Heaston, Vandalia, MO, David Heaston, Mexico, MO and Don Heaston, Lebanon, MO sister, Millie Lennox, Palmyra, MO and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, October 22, 2010 at Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home, Liberty, Missouri. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 23 at Southside Baptist Church, Vandalia, MO with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Farber Cemetery, Farber, MO.
