Bertha W. Sikes Services Today

Winnfield -- Services for Bertha W. Sikes will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with Dr. Calvin Phelps officiating. Burial will be in Winnfield City Cemetery under direction of Southern.

Mrs. Sikes, 80, died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in Winnfield General Hospital. She was a native of Sikes and a housewife. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Winnfield, the American Association of Retired Persons, Order of the Eastern Star and Keen Agers. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club.

Survivors include three sons, Arnold L. Sikes of Baton Rouge, James E. Sikes of Winnfield and Ardis R. Sikes of Alexandria; two daughters, Chloe Mae Atkins of Edna, Texas, and Nellie Faye Thomas of Altanta, Ga.; two brothers, G. E. Walker and Lawson Walker, both of Sikes; three sisters, Vergie Kidd of Sikes, Hazel Ellerbee of Tallulah and Marjorie Parker of Olla; and 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
