Bertie V. Cody

Bertie V. Cody, 36, died of a heart attack Monday at 1 p.m. He had worked Monday morning in the planing mill of Louisiana Central Lumber company; he was returning to work following his lunch, and as he ran to get under a shed during a shower of rail he was suddenly stricken and died almost instantly.

The deceased is survived by the widow, one son, Jimmie Ray Cody, and a daughter, Wilma Dean Cody of Clarks, three brothers, Doyle and Claude Cody of Clarks and Ernest Cody of Klamath Falls, Ore., and two sisters, Hazel Cody of Clarks and Mrs. Edna Reitzell of Kelly.

Funeral services were held Tuesday under the direction of the Riser Funeral Home, Columbia.
