Mrs. Johnson

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (Bessie) Johnson, 77, of West Monroe were held at 2 p.m. today in the Peniel Baptist Church of West Monroe with the Rev. Charles Davis and the Rev. C. W. Aswell officiating.

Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery in Dry Prong, Grant Parish, at 5 p.m. under direction of Kilpatrick's Funeral Home of West Monroe.

Mrs. Johnson died Tuesday at Glenwood Hospital in West Monroe after a lengthy illness.

Survivors include two sons, Leonard L. Johnson of Calhoun and Huey P. Johnson of West Monroe; four daughters, Mrs. Ruby Hudgins, Mrs. Clydell Nelson and Mrs. Estelle Doane, all of West Monroe and Mrs. Mattie Jean Jones of Lake Providence; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
