MRS. BESSIE L. BOULTON DIES MONDAY MORNING

Mrs. Bessie Lou Boulton died Monday morning, July 21, 1969, at Hinds General Hospital, Jackson, where she had been a patient a number of weeks. She had resided in Jackson for the past three years. She was a native of Newton County born Sept. 22, 1901, her parents being the late Candis McCarty and James Williams [Walker]. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church of Newton County.

Mrs. Boulton leaves two daughters, Mrs. Fred Harris of Jackson and Mrs. Lottie Mae Crenshaw of Louisville; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. J. L. Harris of West Enterprise and Mrs. G. C. Cockrell of Bay Springs; and five brothers, Emmett and Bingham Walker, both of Newton, George Walker of Meridian, Farrell Walker of Laurel and Marvin Walker of Abbeville, S.C. She was the widow of S. L. Boulton and resided in the Mt. Vernon Community for many years.

The Revs. James Harrison and E. L. Clark officiated at the funeral held at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 22. Burial was made in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery.

The body remained at Hutson Funeral Home until the service hour.

Active pallbearers included Dan and James Walker, Lavell Cockrell, Warren Jowers, Emmett Boulton, Lewis Earl Everett and Ray Williams.
