Last Will and Testament of Elizabeth Ingram

In the name of God Amen. I Elizabeth Ingram of the State of North Carolina and County of Johnston being in Sound and perfect mind and memory, blessed by God, do live the first day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Sixty nine make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner following, that is to say:

I recommend my soul to God who gave it and for my body to be buried in Christian like manner by my Executor hereafter appointed, and for him to pay all my burial expenses out of my Estate.

1st -- I give and bequeath to my two dear beloved daughters Anna E. Ingram and Kiziah Weaver, widow of Reubin Weaver dec'd, one hundred acres of land each, out of the best to each one of them for them to pick it with the one hundred acres on a body to be laid “of” by two “compatant” free “Holders” and it free holders to equally to divide in value with the county survey.

2nd -- I give and bequeath to all the rest of my chidren, which “is” Nancy Smith wife of Henry Smith, Elizabeth Thornton wife of Nathaniel K. Thornton, Susan Tart wife of John Tart and Loverd Ingram one dollar each, all of my wearing [appearing?] to Anna E. Ingram -- to be paid out of my Estate after my deceasid, the balance of my property to be sold that is not given away in this will to my two Daughters Anna E. Ingram and Kiziah Weaver, widow of Reubin Weaver decd. and all my just debts paid, then, the balance, if any, to be paid over to Anna E. Ingram and Kiziah Weaver, widow of Reubin Weaver decd by my Ex'r. hereafter appointed equally to them both. And I hereby make and ordain my worthy friend Everett A. Bizzell Executor of this my Last will and Testament.

In witness where of I the said Elizabeth Ingram have to this my last will and Testament set my hand and seal the day and year above written.

Signed, sealed published and declared by the said Elizabeth Ingram, the Testatrix, as her last will and testament in the presence of who were present at the time of signing and sealing things.

E. A. Bizzell, being duly sworn, says:

I That he is the Executor named in the will of Elizabeth Ingram deceased.

II That Annie Ingram and Kiziah Weaver are entitled to the Testatrix's property; that the said parties, are of the age of twenty one years -- and residents of Johnston County N.C.

A paper writing purporting to be the last will and Testament of Elizabeth Ingram deceased is exhibited for probate before me, P. T. Massey Judge of Probate for said County, by E. A. Bizzett the Executor there in named; and thereupon Joel Lee Sr. and John Harper the subscribing witnesses there to being duly sworn, each deposed and said:

That they are each subscribing witnesses to said and that the said Elizabeth Ingram subscribed the same in each of their presence. They further said that the said Elizabeth Ingram at the time of subscribing the same declared the said writing to contain her last will and Testament, and they did each then upon, at the request and in the presence of the said testatrix, subscribe their names as attesting witnesses there to.
