MRS. BETTY ALICE CARTER

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Alice Carter are to be conducted at 3:20 Wednesday afternoon from the chapel of the Thompson Funeral Home with Dr. J. D. Slay and the Rev. E. W. Scott officiating.

Interment will follow in the Covington county Oakhay Cemetery with the Thompson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. She was 82.

Death came at 12:01 Tuesday morning at her 900 South Fourteenth avenue home. She had been in ill health some time.

A resident of Laurel for the past 30 years, she was widely known. She was a member of First Methodist church. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

She leaves her husband, J. W. Carter, two daughters, Mrs. Nolan Blackledge and Mrs. L. P. McNair, two sons, R. G. Carter and J. D. Carter, all of Laurel;

Four sisters, Mrs. Suargon [sic Spurgeon] Davis and Mrs. Rebecca Ellzey, both of Laurel; and Mrs. Bennie Musgrove and Mrs. J. W. Little, both of Mobile; four brothers, J. A. McDaniels [sic McDaniel], Mt. Olive; W. D. McDaniels [sic McDaniel], Seminary; E. E. McDaniels [sic McDaniel], Mobile; and Jesse McDaniels [sic McDaniel], Laurel.

The body lies within a Thompson chapel to await the funeral hour.
