BETTIE S. WHITTINGTON

Funeral services were held Monday, August 8, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Liberty for Bettie S. Whittington, 77, of Liberty. Rev. Shan Van Norman and Rev. Alton Foster officiated. Burial was in Liberty Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Sonny Rider, Earl Wayne Ravencraft, Ernest Herndon, Jennings Freeman, Gary Van Norman and Sidney Cruise.

Honorary pallbearers were O.D. Judge, Joe Jackson and Bill Sistrunk.

Mrs. Whittington passed away Friday, August 5, 2011, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb, after a long illness.

Born April 29, 1934, in Marshall, MO, Mrs. Whittington was the daughter of George Dewey Warden and Minnie Lee Gaddy Warden, both deceased.

Mrs. Whittington was a homemaker and had worked as a medical technician for a number of years.

Mrs. Whittington was a member of Enterprise Baptist Church of Liberty.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whittington was preceded in death by two brothers.

Mrs. Whittington leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Rev. Ernest Whittington of Liberty; a daughter, Linda Gordon Whittington of Idaho; two sons, Dennis and Larry Whittington, both of Santa Cruz, California; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, church family and friends.
