Betty Dunn Turner
Mrs. Betty Dunn Turner, age 82 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 at Life Care Hospital in Shreveport. Mrs. Turner was a homemaker, a native of Alexandria and a graduate of Bolton High School and University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Winnfield, the Irene Woods Sunday School Class, Tremont Homemakers and Loyalty Chapter, D.A.R.
Mrs. Turner was the daughter of the late Percy Marion Dunn and the late Helen Slocum Dunn. She was also preceded in death by her husband Henry “Gene” Turner.
She is survived by her children Debbie Wyatt and her husband George of Monroe, La., Connie Sullivan of West Monroe, La., Randy Turner and his wife Kathy of Winnfield, La., Tammy Smith of Oil City, La., Penny O'Bryan and her husband Ronnie of Winnfield, and Lisa Horn and her husband Larry of Ruston, La.,; Mrs. Turner is also survived by twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren as well as two brothers Charlie Dunn of Sulphur, Ky., Bill Dunn of Shreveport, La., and one sister Alice LeJeune of Alexandria, La.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Winnfield with Reverend Bill Willis, Sr. Officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Winnfield under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Mike Lancaster, Wayne Sandifer, Kiah Beville, Benny Smith, Don Causey, and John “Bo” Walker.
The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church Chanel Choir and or the Children's Programs, 300 W. Main St. Winnfield, LA 71483.
