Betty Cook Crain

Betty Cook Crain, 79, died Saturday, Apr. 11, 2009, in Hemphill, TX, after an illness. She was born on Nov. 24, 1929, in Dallas, TX. Betty worked as an officer in the Bridge City State Bank until she retired and moved to Hemphill, TX. Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hemphill.

She is survived by her husband James D. Crain of Hemphill, four daughters, Marilyn Lewis of Kerrville, TX, Linda Sue Cook of Houston, TX, Connie Jean Cook of Henderson, Nevada, and Patti Cook/Mann of Nederland, TX. Two Step-daughters, Judy Crain Singer of Poway, CA and Diane Ruth of Beaumont, TX. One brother Ronald Patterson of Dallas, TX. Five Grandchildren and two Great Grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am Wednesday, April 15, 2009, in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St, Hemphill, TX. Graveside services will be held in the Hillcrest Memorial Garden, Orange, TX, 3:00 PM, Wednesday, April 15, 2009, under the direction of Starr Funeral Home.
