Services for Betty Jo Myers Mayes, age 68 of 1748 Strozier Rd, West Monroe will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 16, 2007 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. William Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Roberts Cemetery west of Kelly.

Mrs. Mayes was born in Winn Parish on February 5, 1939 to the union of Hobson and Minnie Crain Myers and died Sunday, October 14, 2007 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. She was a retired manager of the Kinder Kare Learning Center in West Monroe and a member of the Lakeshore Baptist Church in Monroe.

Survivors include her husband: John M. Mayes of West Monroe, her daughter and son-in-law: Donna and Joseph Soares of Downsville, her son and daughter-in-law: Bruce and Jackie Mayes of Bossier City, her grandchildren: Sara Mayes of Junction City, AR, John Soares and Danny Soares both of Downsville, Alex Mayes and Samuel Soares both of West Monroe, her great-grandson: Robert Mayes of West Monroe, her brother: Charles Myers and his wife: Judy of Centerpoint and her sisters: LaFaye May of Logansport and Gail Myers of West Monroe.

Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Riser Funeral Home, 7131 Hwy 165, Columbia.
