Betty Joe Gaar

WINNFIELD, LA.

Services for Mrs. Betty Joe Gaar, 54, of Winnfield, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday September 26 at the First Presbyterian Church in Winnfield, where she was a member. Rev. Keith Hill and Rev. Grayson Watson will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories in Winnfield. Plans are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

She died at 10 p.m. Friday night September 24, 1982 at Highland Hospital in Shreveport, La. following an automobile accident earlier between Arcadia, La. and Jonesboro, La. Mrs. Gaar was born in Winnfield, La., was a retired employee of the City of Winnfield Utility Dept. She was a member of the Elizabeth Scott Circle, the Order of the Eastern Star Palestine Chapter No. 55, former member of the Winnfield Pilot Club, and was an active [member] of the Homemakers Club of Arcadia, La.

She is survived by her husband, Jack G. Gaar of Winnfield; son, Dr. Gregory G. Gaar of Tucson, Ariz.; her mother, Mrs. C. Lawley of Winnfield; sisters, Mrs. Newton A. Forrest of Winnfield and Mrs. John J. Echols of Shreveport, La.
