Funeral Rites For Mrs. Allen Held At Calhoun

Mrs. Betty Allen, 73, died late Sunday in Palatka, Florida, following a short illness.

Funeral services were held Tuesday p.m. in the Edmons, La., chapel with the Reverend John Hurt officiating. Burial was held in the Calhoun Cemetery at Calhoun under the supervision of the Jonesboro Funeral Home.

Mrs. Allen is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Chapman, with who she made her home in Palatka; one son, O. V. Allen, Jr. of Honolulu, Hawaii; two granddaughters, Mrs. Sam Thomas of Quitman and Mrs. Hank Evans of Palatka; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Max Hamilton of West Monroe and Mrs. Emmett Golson of Calhoun.

Mrs. Allen was active in church and civic affairs, and a native of Ouachita Parish.
