Bill Barr

Graveside services for Bill Barr, 61, of Lubbock will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Plainview Memorial Park.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Westmont Christian Church with the Rev. Tom Anthony officiating.

Burial will be under direction of Rix Funeral Directors.

Barr died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998, in Methodist Hospital.

He was born Aug. 29, 1936, in Itasca. He graduated from Plainview High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member and elder of Westmont Christian Church. He married Earlene Briscoe on Nov. 25, 1956.

He moved to Lubbock from Plainview in 1960. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier for 35 years.

Survivors include his wife; a sister, Jennie Marshall of Plainview; a brother, Raymond of Albuquerque, N.M.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials to Westmont Christian Church, 4808 Utica Ave., Lubbock 79414.
