Billie Dunn
Clarksdale -- Billie Lynn Farmer went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 7, 2011, after a brief illness. Billie Lynn, 83, was born on October 5, 1928, to Mary Lee and Charles Emerson Farmer. She was a native of Columbus, MS. where she graduated from Lee High School and MSCW.
In 1950 Billie Lynn married Milton Dunn and moved to Duncan, MS. where they farmed cotton and soybeans for more than 40 years. She was known throughout the Delta as a kind, gentle and compassionate lady who loved The Lord with all her heart, mind and spirit. Billie Lynn taught womens Bible classes for over 60 years at both the Duncan Baptist and Oakurst Baptist Churches. Her true calling was a deep love of supporting mission work to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ locally and throughout the world. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Milton D. Dunn, Sr.; her son Charles Linwood Dunn, her daughter-in-law Rachel C. Dunn and her sister Joan F. Lucas.
She is survived by a son Milton “Pete” Dunn Jr. of Clarksdale, Ms, a daughter Jean Dunn of Madison, MS., a daughter-in-law Patricia M. Dunn of Madison, MS., and a brother Dr. Charles E. Farmer (Kay) of Clinton, MS.
Grandchildren are Matthew D. Dunn of Robinsonville, MS, Mason D. Dunn (Kate) of Clarksdale, MS, Melissa -Miles Dunn of Charleston, SC, Anna Leigh Dunn of Los Angeles, CA, Courtney Elizabeth Dunn of Jackson, MS, and Joshua Parker Dunn of Madison, MS.
Great Grandchildren are Mary Mason and William Stratton Dunn of Clarksdale, MS.
The Family will receive freinds at Oakurst Baptist Church in Clarksdale, MS on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 1:30pm.
Celebration of her life to follow at 2:30pm. There will be a Graveside Service Monday, December 12, 2011 at 11:00am, Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery, Jackson, MS.
In leiu [sic lieu] of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society , Oakurst Baptist Church in Clarksdale, MS or Parkway Hills United Methodist Church in Madison, MS.
