Billy Don Sparks

A remembrance gathering for Billy Don Sparks, born October 17, 1951, will be held at Hole in the Wall BBQ in Springfield on Saturday, January 31st at 2:00 p.m.

Bill retired from the University of Oregon Catering and Conference Services after working in the hospitality and food industry for decades. Throughout his career he was Director of Food and Beverage at Resort Hotels and Conference Centers and Restaurants. During his employment at the University he mentored many students in the craft of catering. He loved music, cooking, dancing, fishing, camping, and hiking.

Bill is survived by wife, Susan Sparks; children, Jebbie Sparks, Allen Sparks, Mackenzie Sparks; granddaughter, Summer Thomas; sisters, Tonya Bennitt, and Anena O'Brien, and preceded in death by brother Randy Sparks. Please join us as we share our stories and celebrate our amazing luck to have known him, consoling each other in gratitude.
