McCarta Rites Held Saturday At Old Union
Funeral services for Billy Ray McCarta, 29, of Kilgore, Texas, who died at
Murrell's Lake after a fishing accident, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the
Old Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Kerr officiating.
Burial was in Old Union Cemetery in Joyce.
Survivors are his widow; one son, Billy Ray McCarta, Jr., of Kilgore, Texas;
two daughters, Nena McCarta of Texas City, Texas and Joyce McCarta of
Flatwoods; his father, Albert McCarta of Florida; his mother, Mrs. Catherine
Nichols of Flatwoods; four brothers, Glen Arnold of Leesville, Roy Arnold of
Pineville, Johnnie Nichols and Tommy Nichols of Flatwoods; three sisters, Mrs.
Patsy Brown of Pineville, Mary Randall of Verda, and Mrs. Fay Basco of
Flatwoods; his stepfather, Arvel Nichols of Flatwoods.
