Bill Brand

MIDLAND -- Bill Brand, 63, died Monday, April 14, 1997.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Westside Church of Christ with Don Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park by Ellis Funeral Home.

Mr. Brand was born in Sweetwater and grew up in Amarillo. He moved to Midland in 1950 and married Mary Lee McBee that same year. They moved to Victoria in 1981, and he was president of the American Stabilizer Corp. They moved to Tomball in 1983, and he was employed by Dailey Oil Tools.

He became semi-retired in 1993 and later began working part time as a security officer at Willowbrook and Memorial Malls in Houston. In 1996, he and his wife returned to Midland.

Mr. Brand was a member of Westside Church of Christ and the Acacia Lodge No. 1414. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite, the York Rite and the Suez Shrine.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Sherry Brookshire, Diana Reynolds and Teresa Lake, all of Midland; three brothers, H.J. O'Pry of Amarillo, Roland Brand of Grand Junction, Colo., and Charles Brand of Albuquerque, N.M.; sisters, Quita Faye Brand and Dee Ann Seymour of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

The family requests memorials be to Hospice of Midland, P.O. Box 2621, Midland, Texas 79701; or a favorite charity.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
