Olla Youth, 16, Drowns in Castor Creek

OLLA, La., June 16 -- (Special) -- Billy Wade Stough, 16-year-old Olla youth, drowned yesterday in Castor Creek as his head hit a submerged log when he dove into the water.

Stough is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Stough, of Olla.

Dr. F. A. Thomas, acting LaSalle parish coroner, returned a drowning caused by cerebral concussion received from diving into the the water.

Young Stough was with a party of six others when the accident occurred. They searched the waters when Stough didn't come up after his dive. When they were unable to find him, they went to Olla for help. The body was recovered about 3:30 in 20 feet of water. Time of death was set at 2 p.m.

Funeral services were to have been held at 3:30 p.m. today in the First Baptist church of Olla, Rev. J. O. James, pastor, officiating. Interment in Olla cemetery.

He is survived by his parents and one sister.
