Word comes from Rainier, Alta., Canada, of the very sad occu[r]rence to the George Duby family. The home of Blaine Eshom, husband of Mildred Duby, was burned by the explosion of a lamp which saturated Blain[e]'s clothing and burned so much surface of his body that he died nine days later.

George Duly [sic Duby] at the time was in the hospital recuperating from a major operation. Both families were well known in Olympia.
