Blenda Leatece Schooley -- At 12:08 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009 at home with her family, Blenda Leatece (Counts) Schooley passed into the hands of God.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2009 at the Church of Christ in Rotan with Don Dawes and Wes Eastman officiating. Burial will follow in Belvieu Cemetery under the direction of Weathersbee - Ray Funeral Home.
She was born July 6, 1945 in Rotan to CV and Berthie Ann Counts. Leatece attended Rotan Schools for 11 years. On June 1, 1962 she met Reece Schooley in Rotan and they were married 29 days later on June 29, 1962 in Lamesa. They had two daughters, Shelly and Shana. Leatece worked at the First National Bank of Rotan for 26 years and retired three years ago.
Leatece is survived by her husband of 46 years, Reece Schooley; two daughters and their husbands, Shelly and Darrell Gardner of Abilene and Shana and Chris Haas of Rotan; three grandchildren, Albert Schooley of Rotan, Tabitha Haas of Rotan and Nathan Gardner of Abilene; two brothers and their wives, Tim and Nancy Counts of Rotan and Mickey and Pam Counts of Roby; one sister-in-law, Karen Counts of Roby; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
