Boyce Howard Emmons, 70
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Dalton-Holmes Funeral Chapel for Boyce Howard Emmons, 70, Durant, who died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma.
He was born Wednesday, May 26, 1937, in Caddo to James E. Emmons and Azuba (Mahana). He married Beatrice J. Jones May 2, 1992, in Durant. He served in the United States Army from 1959-1962. He was a good father and a practical joker. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and loved taking care of his great-grandson. He lived in this area most of this life.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ray Emmons.
He is survived by his wife Anita Emmons, of the home; daughter Rhonda Schroeder and husband Gary, Sherman, Texas, Marcy Crowley, Madill, and their mother Nancy Ann Carter, Madill; stepson Michael Kennedy and wife Lawanda, Durant; stepdaughter Vickie Sgroi and husband Joe, Yukon; stepson Tony Kennedy and wife Dawnita, Ardmore; granddaughters Laura Crowley and Margo Crowley, both of Madill; great-grandson Aidan Crowley, Madill; sisters Peggy Hogan and husband Herbert, Bentley, Jackie Owen and husband Leon, Durant; brother Jimmy Emmons and wife Mary, Tom Bean, Texas; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery with Joe Sgroi, Michael Kennedy, Tony Kennedy, Timothy Kennedy and Michael Lawler serving as pallbearers.
Family hour will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
