Bruce Stewart Jensen

Bruce Stewart Jensen, 55, Klamath Falls, died on April 11, 2009, in Medford, Ore.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at the Poe Valley Recreation Hall on South Poe Valley Road with Denny Roberts officiating.

Bruce was born in Roseburg, Ore., on Sept. 10, 1953, to Harold Jensen and Eileen Anderson.

The family moved to Klamath Falls when he was 5.

He attended schools in the Klamath Falls area, graduating from Klamath Union High School in 1971.

Mr. Jensen joined the Navy in 1971 and was assigned to the USS Piedmont. He left active duty in 1973 and was honorably discharged from the Reserves in 1977. After serving in the Navy, Bruce worked with his father in construction in the Klamath Falls area.

In 1981, he joined Klamath County Fire District No. 1 as a firefighter/EMT. He retired in 2006 after 25 years of dedicated service.

Bruce married Brenda High on Valentine's Day 1982.

He enjoyed working with wood, being with his family, traveling, and playing with his grandson. He also enjoyed fishing on the coast with his father in the summer.

He is survived by his wife Brenda; his parents Harold and Eileen Jensen of Brookings; daughter and son-in-law Drucilla and Chuck Curtis, son and daughter-in-law Shane and Emily Jensen, son Martin Jensen, grandson James Jensen, father-in-law Taylor High and brother-in-law and his wife Dean and Vickie High, all of Klamath Falls.
