A witness, M. C. Chapman, 202 Lister, said he was traveling behine Jones' car which he said was traveling west on Pierremont at an estimated 20-25 miles per hour. He said the officer's car angled off to the right, ran onto the curb and the left front end struck the utility pole. He said the right side of the car struck two mail boxes en route.
