McCARTY, BUFORD LEE

Died 7:35 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 1990, at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. He was 54, a native of Lake Providence and resident of Baker. He was a J&C Machine Works machinist and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean conflict.

Visiting at Hollabaugh-Spindle Wooddale Memorial Chapel, 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday, and 8 a.m. until religious services at 10:30 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. James Willis. Burial in Port Hudson National Cemetery.

Survived by wife, Barbara Willis McCarty; two daughters, Mrs. Geraldine ``Gidget'' Martin, Crossett, Ark., and Mrs. Theresa Harmon, Houston, Texas; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Jo Ann McCartney, Baton Rouge, Glory and Linda New, both of Baker; a son, Buford Eugene McCarty, Baker; two stepsons, Robert Gill, Livingston, and U.S. Marine Cpl. Carl E. Gill, San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Beard, Tallulah; four brothers, Walter McCarty, Tallulah, James McCarty, Delhi, Marvin McCarty, Odessa, Texas, and Billy Ray McCarty, California; 10 grandchildren; numerous stepchildren and foster children.

Preceded in death by parents; a brother; and a son, Jack McCarty.
