Burl A. Dampier

Final rites for Burl Allen Dampier, father of Mrs. J. M. Campbell of Wisner, took place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Coax Baptist church.The Rev. Paul Durbin and the Rev. James Brown officiated.

Burial followed in Coax cemetery.

Mr. Dampier, a retired farmer, was born September 22, 1883 at Sicily Island and was a resident of Vidalia at the time of his death. He died April 24 at a Wisner Nursing home.

He is survived by his daughter; four sons, William Dallas Dampier, Vidalia, Jesse E. Dampier, Clayton, the Rev. Samuel B. Dampier, Collingston, and Marvin E. Dampier, Vicksburg, Miss; three sisters, Mrs. Ella Kelly, Plaquemines, Mrs. Vonnie Barfield and Mrs. Susie Thompson, both of Winnsboro; four brothers, Fred, Mac and K. G. Dampier, all of Wisner, and Lucious Dampier, Swartz; 2? grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Billy, Cecil, and Virgil Dampier, Thomas Easterling, Bill Carroll and J. ? Smith.
